Stitched Quilt Shop
After coming back from HH Americas, I was hearing about some new quilt shops opening in South Eastern Wisconsin. My friend Kate, who owns Barn Door Quilts in Sturgeon Bay, WI, mentioned to me that there was a new shop in Racine, WI, which is only about 30 miles from Milwaukee. I had a lovely sunny Saturday afternoon open, and with the price of petrol, I decided to stay local and check out the Stitched Quilts Shop!
The space is really quite special, and after having the pleasure of chatting with Autumn, the owner of the shop, there was a very personal journey that was involved in getting the shop established. I really encourage you to visit this great shop during the Wisconsin Quilt Shop Hop that starts on June 1st, 2026. She has a good friend and business partner, Mackenzie, who had some wonderful things to share with me as well. You will find this shop to feel right at home. With the Frank Lloyd Wright influence of Downtown Racine, they feature inspired fabric and accessories to add to the unique spirit of this wonderful creative space. There is an area called The Snug, which is a comfy area that cultivates a community of makers to do hand sewing work and be social with each other. With the brick wall and the bright modern quilts on the wall, I would find it challenging not to be creative in this warm space.
One of the things I loved that not a lot of quilt shops do is curate their own quilting/project kits! Most materials are included, as well as the pattern. You’d have to bring a machine, thread, batting, and maybe backing. Not only are they inspiring, but they are so reasonably priced, and included is a project bag to keep it all together as you create. Here is a cute table runner I found at this shop.
Make sure you check out The Stitched Quilt Shop’s Facebook page, which I’ve included as a link in the photo of me and Autumn below. The Facebook page will keep you up to date on any classes that she will be hosting. I had heard that she will be hosting an event during the quilt shop hop featuring Cory from Riley Blake Designs, who represents Lori Holt’s awesome collection! I’m looking forward to signing up for her quilting rug class using canvas duck fabric, which is completely up my alley.
The vibrant personality of Autumn will most definitely make you want to check out The Stitched Quilt Shop in Racine, WI. While you are there, make sure to view the entire space. Even the washrooms are exquisite! Racine’s downtown is quite vibrant with lots of fun shops to check out, including the RAM Art Museum, which is just three blocks from the quilt shop. There are parking meters everywhere, but a couple of hours will only set you back a few dollars. It’s so worth a visit!
Just a few more photos of the Stitched Quilt Shop to enjoy. But please, if you are in the southeastern part of Wisconsin, this shop is a must-visit! I know I’ll be making this space a place I’ll visit often. I even bought some Cloud 9 fabric, which is a company I met up with at HH Americas. I might just carry some of their patterns in my shop…hint hint…
Thanks so much for taking the time to be a part of the creative journey with me. I took a hiatus on my blog posts for 10 months because I wanted to stay committed to my YouTube channel. However, in that process, I forgot I need to create a balance between the blog and YouTube to keep this community relevant. I am working on creating a shopping page and will be placing my first purchase order very soon. You know I’ll have an unboxing video just for that. But stay in touch to find out more. I’ll make sure to post more info so you all know what’s happening.
For now, thank you! I can’t do these things without you! Remember, if you like what you see on my YouTube channel, make sure to like, subscribe, and share. You can also follow me here on my blog!
I’d love to hear from you! What makes a quilt shop special to you? Leave a comment below. If anything, take the time to thank Autumn for investing in our quilting community with a beautiful shop! We need more of this in our world right now. Sharing creativity creates kindness, and that’s what we encourage here at The Quilting Camper!
Big hugs,
Scott
